About me
My name is Kathrine Carton and I am a qualified Counsellor and a Level 3 Member of the Australian Counselling Association. I am located in the South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria. I am happy to see clients in their own homes, if that is easiest for them, or I have rooms available listed in my contact page. I do not charge for travel and where possible I offer flexible appointments.
I am married with two adult children, and have a wealth of life experience that goes along with not only being a wife and mother, but also from working in a variety of different industries.
I provide counselling in areas such as depression and anxiety, relationships, careers, friendship issues, family issues, pre-marriage counselling, and loss and grief of all kinds. I work with people of all ages – from teenagers through to seniors.
I have a really affinity with the elderly and recognize the amazing amount of knowledge and experience they hold. I enjoy working with them, to maintain their independence to live safely in their own homes. If or when that becomes untenable, we can work together to transition into an assisted living facility. Once there I can continue to provide counselling in order to make settling in as easy as possible.
I have a genuine interest in helping people. I take pride in my work, and strive to assist my clients to achieve the best results possible.
I value my client’s capacity to live as autonomously as possible and I work with my clients to enhance living skills, build relationship skills and foster inclusion in meaningful social activities.
I use a holistic approach with all of my clients, a Counsellor can not simply treat the issue being presented, without viewing their client as a whole person. Mind, body and spirit are all connected, and if the body is not being cared for, we can not expect it to function properly, and to fuel the mind and spirit adequately. Together we can discuss the ideas for self care, appropriate rest, exercise and nutrition.
Making the decision to see a counsellor is a positive step, and it is a sign that it is time to make yourself a priority in your life. Together, we can work towards bringing harmony into your lived experience, and help you to achieve a tranquil life, which is simply beautiful.
